Measurement of the angle and displacement for the optical pickup head of a pigtailed laser diode

Abstract

This study presents an analytical method for measuring the tilt angle and displacement obtained using the pickup head of a pigtailed laser diode. The feasibility of the optical pickup head can be shown by the angle and displacement measurements investigated. We used a quadrant photo detector to detect the relative relationship of the signals which can be used to measure the tilt angle and displacement of the testing plane. The results show that the tilt angle is independent of the displacement.
