Magnetoresistance in two-component Ag/Ni nanocompacts

Abstract

The transport characteristics and the magnetoresistive responses of two-component (Ag)x(Ni)100-x nanocompacts were studied. The percolation threshold for transport conduction was identified to be at x=30, higher than which metallic behavior without appreciable magnetoresistive (MR) responses were found. For insulating nanocompacts, crossovers from positive MR responses at low applied magnetic fields to negative MR responses at high applied magnetic fields were observed at low temperatures.
