Abstract

A statistical analysis of variations in the foF2 critical frequency before earthquakes has been additionally interpreted based on data from Chung-Li ionospheric station (Taiwan). The interpretation is based on the spatial distribution of earthquakes on Taiwan, depending on a source depth. A complicated shape of the ionospheric precursors of earthquakes is also explained on the basis of a developed physical model.
