Abstract

Automatic static corrections for surface elevation and near-surface velocity effects in a strongly variable 2-dimensional (2-D) media may be incorporated, in a implicit way, during prestack reverse-time migration. The algorithm requires that the topographic and velocity variations be part of the velocity distribution used for migration.
