Abstract

The production of albumin and urea by hepatocyte cultured on the membranes prepared from extracellular matrix proteins and motif peptides of silk fibroin containing RGD sequence was described. Extracellular matrix protein membranes were prepared from fibronectin (FN), vitronectin (VN), and collagen (COL) by a casting method. The peptide membranes were prepared from motif peptide of silk fibroin (AG) which have Arg-Gly-Asp (RGD) cell adhesion domain. The results show that the highest albumin production by hepatocyte was on the fibronectin membranes, following on the laminin membranes among extracellular matrix protein membranes.
