GaN optical sources with the KDPOF gigabit POF transceiver

Abstract

This paper shows the potential of GaN optical sources for data transmission based on KDPOF Gigabit POF Ethernet transceiver (KD-EVK1001MC Evaluation Kit), which operates with up to 16-PAM modulation and provides the complete signal processing. The performance of cyan GaN LED and red LED with KD-POF was demonstrated. It seems that the cyan GaN LED system is limited by chromatic dispersion.
