Abstract

This work describes the validation with field data of a finite element model of material transport through aquifers (FEMA) which was written by G. T. Yeh and D. D. Huff. Field data from the Idaho Chemical Processing Plant, Idaho, USA and from the 58th Street landfill in Miami, Florida, USA are used. In both cases, the model was first calibrated and then integrated over a span of eight years to check on the predictive capability of the model. Both predictive runs gave results that matched well with available data.
