Abstract

In order to study the effects and mechanism of chemoembolization and intra-radiotherapeutic embolization after hepatic tumor implentation in rats, walker-256 hepatic tumor cells were implanted into the liver of 60 SD rats which were divided into 3 groups and different therapy were performed, the effects of two kinds of therapy were observed and compared. We found that the rate of tumor size, tumor necortic rate and tumor growth rate had significant differences between the two kinds of therapy (P > 0.05) and there was significant difference in effects on hepatic function (P < 0.05). After different treatments, survival cancer cells were found in the tumor loci. It is suggested that both of the methods can exert obvious effects on implanted hepatic tumor, but there are survival cancer cells after single treatment.
