Error detection by parity checks for H.263 compatible video coding

Abstract

A parity-embedded error detection technique for the H.263 compatible video coder is proposed. This technique can detect errors with an extra 10-30% accuracy than the sematic error detector does. Further, computation complexity is considerably low and the additional cost is only one-frame coding delay and a minor bit rate increase.
