Abstract

The first measurement of the pseudorapidity density of primary particles in Au + Au collisions was presented at √SNN = 130 GeV. Discussion of the the energy dependence of the pseudorapidity density was done and compared with data from proton-induced collisions. The results found an increase by a factor of 1.14 ± 0.05 at 90% confidence level, compared to collisions at √SNN = 130 GeV.
