Abstract
The development of an efficient method for the generation of extented plasma waveguides by using the axicon lens in conjuction with the ignitor-heater schemes, was discussed. The seed electrons were generated by short-pulse ignitor using multiphoton ionization. The plasma density barrier was developed by collisional ionization and the expansion of plasma through long-pulse heater using inverse bremsstahlung heating. It was found that the waveguide forming process was shown by the evolution of the plasma density profile which was measured by time-resolved interferometry.
