Abstract
This paper investigates how team leadership predicts the level of collective efficacy and team performance over time. This study found that transformational team leadership enhances collective efficacy over time. It also found that the presence of collective efficacy will reinforce the mutually aligned goals of the members as well as the teams' degree of transformational leadership to effectively lead the team. On the other hand, contrary to expectation, it was found that collective efficacy does not have any significant effect on team performance. Implications of the findings for organisations and suggestions for future research are discussed.
