Abstract

For the 6061 Al alloy composite, the abrasive wear rate decreased with increasing matrix hardness. While for the 2014 Al alloy composite, the overaged composite showed the best wear resistance, as compared to the as-solutionized and the peak-aged conditions, despite the softening of the matrix.
