Abstract

The study aims at developing a reliable procedure for evaluating the performance of TFT-LCD monitors in drop circumstances. The effective simulation model is completed by comparing with experimental validation. Additionally, three component-modification proposals are verified to prevent: (1) the detachment of TFT-LCD and housing modules; (2) the plastic deformation of the top plastic housing; and (3) the plastic deformation on the fastening point of the TFT-LCD module and bottom plastic housing, for fulfilling the IEC drop-test regulations.
