Abstract

An infinite impulse response (IIR) filter benefits to identify complex primary and secondary paths information with short filter length for active noise control (ANC) system. Conventional output-error (OE)-based system uses adaptive IIR filter with the filtered-U recursive least mean square (FURLMS) algorithm to cancel undesired noise. This paper develops an ANC system using equation-error (EE)-based IIR filter and analyzes its step size bound, global minimum and computation complexity. The EE-based ANC system can also solve measurement error problem for the error sensor. Several simulations show effectiveness and enhancement of the developed EE-based system.
