Abstract

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) is a novel and attractive technology and has become an energetic research area in recent years. Furthermore, Wireless Sensor Networks has grown several mainly applications towards to monitor hazardous environments and build a sustainable system. This research presents an Imote2 based Wireless Sensor Networks data logging and signal processing system for structural health monitoring. The Imote2 runs .NET Micro Framework is an advanced wireless sensor platform based on the low-power PXA271 XScale CPU and also integrates an IEEE 802.15.4 compliant radio. Furthermore, .NET Micro Framework environment provides researchers ability to develop and deploy highly customized wireless sensor networks, more efficiently. This paper introduces wireless technology and applications, moreover, presents the architecture design of the prototype system that includes hardware composition, software implementation and sensor integration. Experimental study was design to investigate the benefit and efficiency with the proposed system.
