Abstract
This paper documents a new method for determining the weights of criteria in a decision tree. The method is a modification of the well-accepted eigenvector method by Saaty. The new method utilizes fuzzy set mathematics to improve the scaling scheme used in the Saaty’s procedure. Emphasis of the paper is placed on the computational aspects of the new method. An example is worked out to illustrate the new method, and the potential applications of the method are discussed.
