Abstract
Silent discharge plasmas (SDP) are effective in generating free radicals which are highly reactive with organic compounds. This characteristic is a key element for highly volatile organic compounds (VOC) destruction efficiency achieved with SDPs. Various studies indicate that SDPs are effective in decomposing a wide range of gaseous contaminants and have the potential to be developed as a viable alternate technology for destroying volatile organic compounds in gas streams.
