Abstract

A design of video service engine with Small Computer System Interface (SCSI) for an ADSL-based Near Video On Demand (NVOD) system is presented in this paper. In this work, the design of video service engine which provides 504 program channels at a T1 rate is proposed. The system architecture, hardware design and performance test are included here. A field trial for the proposed system is applied in Taipei, R.O.C. From the performance test, a reliable and low-cost quality of service (QoS) is achieved.
