Abstract

The process of implementing the ABET EC-2000 into two ME programs in Taiwan was discussed. A process to reform the ME program was designed, which includes curriculum planning and outcome oriented assessment methods. Four ME courses were chosen as pilot courses so as to experiment the feasibility of implementing outcome-driven curriculum planning into the academic program. The study shows that knowledge must not only be acquired but should also be applied in relevant situations.
