Abstract

A V-band active integrated antenna (AIA) in 0.15 μm GaAs PHEMT technology is presented in this paper for millimeter-wave applications. The proposed AIA is composed with a differential voltage controlled oscillator and a planar Yagi antenna. The oscillation frequency of the AIA is from 69.5 to 69.7 GHz, and the maximum output power is 13.2 dBm with a total dc power consumption of 39 mW with a supply voltage of 1.5 V. The AIA features an antenna gain of 0 dBi with a compact chip area of 1.5 × 1 mm2.
