Abstract

This corrigendum revises the caption of Fig. 8 appearing on page 180 for the correction of the definition of the turbulent Damköhler number (Da) from the original Da = (LI/u')(SLL) to the present Da = (LI/u')(SLL,0). The revised caption of Fig. 8 should read: “Fig. 8. The variation of (ST,c=0.5 - SL)/uʹ with the turbulent Damköhler number that involves the turbulent integral length scale (LI), where Da = (LI/uʹ)(SLL,0) using the same definition as in Ref. [14] under constant turbulent flow Reynolds number (ReT,flow) conditions for the purpose of comparison. Here the laminar flame thickness δL,0 (not δL defined in Table 1) is estimated by assuming that δL,0 ≈ α0/SL, where α0 is the thermal diffusivity at the initial reactant temperature T0 (= 300K and/or 423K). To avoid the confusion and Table C1 to help the interested researchers for comparing their data with Fig. 8 in the future, a corrigendum table is provided that lists related properties (α0 and δL,0) used to estimate Da in Fig. 8. Except the correction of δL,0 in the definition of Da (Fig. 8), all results and discussion in the original manuscript remain unchanged.
