Abstract

For rapid gear design and load analysis, the loaded tooth contact analysis (abbrev. LTCA) approaches are efficient and indispensable tools. This paper compares the results of an involute gear pair using two models: RIKOR, developed by FZG at TUM, and the LTCA model developed by MDL at NCU. The comparison focuses on the variation of contact stresses under four different conditions. Additionally, the LTCA model is extensively applied to analyze an EC gear pair, which has a space curve as the contact line. Discrete grids are distributed on a ruled surface to accurately capture the contact behavior. The trend of the contact curve obtained from the LTCA simulation results is validated using ANSYS.
