Abstract

A compact parallel-coupled sext-band bandpass filter using semi-lumped resonators is presented in this paper. The filter was fabricated with microstrip technology, and each of the semi-lumped resonators consists of a microstrip line section and a chip inductor. In comparison to the conventional quarter-wavelength uniform resonator, the semi-lumped resonator is more compact and of a better control over harmonic frequencies. To achieve high selectivity, transmission zeros beside the six passbands are generated due to cross coupling. Considering design freedom and structure complexity, each of the six pairs of resonators determine their respective channel frequency responses.
