Compact harmonic-suppressed coplanar waveguide-fed inductively coupled slot antenna

Abstract

A coplanar waveguide-fed inductively coupled stepped-impedance slot antenna is presented. In comparison to the conventional uniform slot antenna, the proposed antenna not only shows a 32% size reduction, but also achieves a better harmonic suppression. Equations as well as design guidelines are provided. Experiment is carried out to validate the design method. The simulated results show a good agreement with the measured results.
