Abstract

Crystallization is often performed in solvents or rnixtyres of solvents. Recrystallization by solvent screening is particularly important for the pharmaceutical industry. The authors propose extending initial solvent screening for a single-solvent system to the cocktail solvent screening of binary and ternary solvent mixtures. Solvent mixtures can improve a drug's solubility, provide a higher crystal yield, and allows environmentally harmful solvents to be replaced.
