Abstract
Charge renormalization of charged spheres based on thermodynamic properties was discussed. Monte Carlo simulations were performed to obtain various thermodynamic properties in a Wigber-Seitz cell and the effect of dielectric discontinuity was examined. The results suggest that charge renormalization can be performed by chemical potential, which may be observed in osmotic pressure measurements. The results also suggest that the influence of dielectric discontinuity is not significant in evaluating the chemical potential.
