Abstract
In this study, existing and newly developed SPT- and CPT-based simplified methods for liquefaction potential evaluation are calibrated with field performance databases. The calibration is carried out through probabilistic analyses of all cases in the associated database, which results in risk-based methods for liquefaction potential evaluation. The risk-based approach is applied to the SPT- and CPT-based databases from the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake published recently by the U.S. Geological Survey.
