Abstract

The converted solar energy of sunlight in the LED hybrid light box lighting system for indoor lighting is simulated and computed in this study. Sunlight is collected by a concentrator and split into visible and non-visible rays by a beam splitter. The visible rays pass through a light guide into a light box where they are mixed uniformly with the LED light, to provide uniform illumination. The non-visible rays are absorbed by a photovoltaic device to provide the electricity. We calculate the converted solar energy for our light box design and find that the energy saving is 2.6 times more than the power consumption of our indoor lighting.
