Abstract

A time delay control (TDC) algorithm has been developed for a servovalve controlled pneumatic actuator to achieve accurate and robust position control. Such a controller updates the command input for the next sampling using the input and the values of measured and computed state variables from the previous sampling. Experimental results have shown that the proposed TDC strategy is much better than conventional PD control as satisfied transient response and steady state accuracy can always be maintained under various operating conditions.
