Abstract
Results are presented showing that the annual and semiannual components of ps(Yu-Shan) provide excellent indications of the annual variation of the global-scale circulation in the low latitudes. The annual and semiannual oscillations are the most significant short-term climate signals in this region. Hence, the annual variation of ps(Yu-Shan) can be used as a good indicator to verify climate simulations in the sub-tropics.
