Abstract

In this paper, a new approach to retrieval images from the color image database is proposed. We combine the color feature and shape feature to index and measure the similarity of images. Several color spaces that widely used in computer graphic were discussed and compared for color clustering to reduce the resolutions of the color space. In addition, we propose a new automatically indexing scheme of image database according to this clustering method, which could filter the image efficiently. Besides, a Seed Filling algorithm for extracting the shape feature of image is proposed.
