Abstract

The indoor radio environment is very complex, so it is very difficult to design a wireless LAN to provide both a good coverage region and a large number of wireless subscribers. Therefore, determining the good locations of users within the indoor wireless communication environment is very important. We propose a wireless LAN measurement method which uses the wireless LAN card instead of signal generator and two parameters (RSSI, FER) to survey the transmission quality within the indoor environment. We also discuss the performance degradation caused by an iron and a microwave oven.
