Abstract

This paper presents a PID controller design for voltage-mode DC-DC buck converter. Based on the mathematical derivations and verified by using behavioral models, the digital PID controller is induced to improve the phase margin of DC-DC buck converter. Based on the information of voltage error between feedback voltage and reference voltage, the behavior model for the DC-DC buck converter of voltage-mode with ADC, digital PID controller and digital pulse-width modulator (DPWM) is built to verify the system responses by using MATLAB Simulink.
