A preliminary study of data quality measure with the emphasis on error criticality

Abstract

This paper provides a preliminary result of developing a quality indication that amplifies the errors on critical data. This article presents an evolving process in data warehousing for explaining how the proposed measure is formulated, from external sources to being joined on a star schema. An analytical business example is provided for illustrating the rationale of the proposed measure and discussing how business decisions are impacted correspondingly.
