Abstract

With about 35% recurrence rate, oral cancer is one of the hardest cancer to cure. Early detection can ensure better prognosis. Our light absorption optical diagnostic device intends to provide portable, simple, and affordable resource to potential oral cancer patients. Operated by a programmable microcontroller unit, the built-in LED light excites samples with biomarker in the microfluidic detection chamber. Data obtained by photodetectors are transmitted to smartphones via Bluetooth. This point-of-care testing technic possess accuracy, and yield faster results.
