A plasmonic-mode-assisted sharp waveguide bend for silicon optical nanocircuitry

Abstract

A novel sharp waveguide bend in metal/multi-insulator configuration is proposed and investigated. With an aid of plasmonic mode, the transmission efficiency of above 95.8% for TM polarization is numerically demonstrated.
