Abstract

A non-destructive method to eliminate the 90° domains in BaTiO3 crystal fibers has been developed. We employ a vibration system to apply a cyclic force on the a-faces of the crystals. An accumulation of the vibrating force achieves a higher force, which dissipates the internal stress of the crystal. The results show that the 90° domains are easily diminished with only a slight force pressed to the crystal surface.
