Abstract

With the increasing needs of global communication, the improvement of secure communication is of vital importance. This study proposes a new scheme for establishing secure communication systems. A master chaotic system is embedded at the transmitter. The message signal is mixed with a chaotic signal and then transmitted to the receiver through the public channels. A synchronization signal mixed with a dummy signal is transmitted through another public channel to the receiver where a slave chaotic system is embedded to reproduce the chaotic signal. The new scheme separates a dummy signal from the chaotic signal with Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD). Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD) is a novel scheme for secure communications. A hacker would not be able to retrieve the message signal by using EMD or chaos synchronization even though all the transmitted signals are intercepted.
