Abstract

This note presents a high-pressure double-chamber testing platform for measurements of the impact of flow uniformity in flow distributors on the performance of planar solid oxide fuel cell at elevated pressure conditions. Electrochemical impedance spectra (EIS) of two sets of nearly identical single-cell stacks except using different flow distributors confirm that the better flow uniformity in flow distributors is important to the cell performance at both atmospheric and elevated pressures (p), up to 16% increase in power densities found at p = 0.5 MPa.
