Abstract

Internet users can access and utilize various resources from different cloud service providers with cloud computing. An efficient resource query mechanism is essential to assist the users easily and quickly obtain available cloud services. In this paper, a Distributed Hash Table (DHT) based resource provision enquiry mechanism, namely DRPE mechanism, is designed to achieve the interoperability in cloud computing. Our query method enhances Content Addressable Network (CAN) with locality and contains characteristics of distribution, high expansion, and prevention of single peer breakdown. We examine the performance of DRPE with PeerSim and simulation results show that the average hop numbers of enquiry packets and query packets numbers of DRPE significantly reduced when compared with CAN.
