Abstract

A 3-ps, 60-µJ, 10.2-µm pulse is generated by mixing subnanosecond 1338-nm and chirped 1540-nm pulses in BGGSe nonlinear crystal. The feasibility of its application in nonlinear seeding of CO2 laser amplifiers is proven numerically.
