The Promotion of the Research and Development of Chemistry in the Field of Organic and Inorganic Chemistry

This is a proposal from the chemistry division coordinator. The objective of this proposal is to plan the work will be carried out this year (Jan, 2020 to Dec. 2020). There are four sub-area for the chemistry division in the department of nature science and sustainable development MOST, including Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry and Analytic Chemistry. Two coordinators (from university or research center) are in charge for some regular works, such as the evaluation/reviewing of the proposals and international travel funding as well as the award election and be the consultant regarding to the chemistry related issues. Furthermore, the chemistry division coordinators are the staff of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) to suggest the new police for MOST and make sure the police from MOST can be carried out as good as it supposed to be. Now a day there is serious competition among the world on the important research topics (such as AI, IoT, energy and materials recycle) and the research resources in Taiwan cannot compete internationally. How to propose a good police to let the researchers in Taiwan can be seen internationally as the same time help the industry in Taiwan upgrade their techniques are the urged works. How to evaluate the proposals fairly and correctly, what is the right incentive for the researchers, how to support high-level researcher in a long-term, how to promote the multidisciplinary research, how to guide the research toward solving the critical problems in Taiwan industry and how to encourage the woman chemists involve in chemistry research will be the jobs to be concerned seriously this year.
