Sustainable Fuxing – Building Smart and Resilient Tribes

Project Details

Description

This program aims to foster sustainable development and transform Fuxing District, Taoyuan City, which represents the target area of the program, into a resilient community based on a profound awareness of environmental sustainability issues. Through cross-disciplinary cooperation, the program strives to hone the capabilities of Fuxing District as a resilient community. The adopted approach consists of the following four subprojects: 1. Smart Disaster Prevention, 2. Smart Energy, 3. Sustainable Water, 4. Tribal Community Placemaking. Disaster alleviation and resilience is strengthened through smart disaster prevention, while smart energy and sustainable water ensure pre-disaster preparedness and enhanced pre- and post-disaster response abilities. Community placemaking, which is the driving force of post-disaster recovery and the cornerstone of sustainability, fosters pre-disaster community empowerment. Ultimately, the program is expected to generate the following benefits: creation of a resilient community and sound safety net and protection of the survival, livelihood, and traditional lifestyles of tribal communities.
