Study on the physical properties of a new type of transition metal spinel materials Tm3V3O8 (Tm/Tm' = Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn)

Project Details

Description

This study will develop the fabrication method of the Tm3V3O8 spinel materials(Tm is 3d transition metal, Cr, Mn, Fe, Ni, Cu, Zn). X-ray and neutron diffractionexperiments will employ to analyze its crystal structure characteristics. The basicmagnetic, electrical, structural properties are studied by using variabletemperature magnetization, hysteresis curve, resistivity, magnetoresistance, dielectric constants, resistivity, Raman spectroscopy, and inelastic neutronscattering. These experiments are also helping to clarify the possible interactionand dynamic behaviors such as the existence of polarons, excitons, or otherquasi-particles. The complete phase diagram of the relevant system and thepotential practical application will also develop.
