Project Details

Description

This plan aims to understand the transformation of Hakka discourse and ethnic connotations through the contemporary operation and presentation of ritual symbols. On the other hand, it explores how state coordinates and engages in dialogue with local power through the practice of ritual , in order to achieve social mobilization and political goals. The Yimin Festival in Taipei is not so much a regional belief as a carrier of the ethnic imagination of Taipei Hakka people . This plan will explore how to establish this symbolic system, maintain ethnic consciousness, and attempt to analyze the ethnic imagination connotation it embodies from three aspects: national cultural governance, Taipei Hakka clubs, and ritual reproduction.
