Magic Leap (an AR/MR startup) successfully raised $2 billion by using the video of a whale jumping out of the water in the stadium. It demonstrated the people's endless desire for "naked-eyes 3D vedio without display". This project uses "Digital-optical-phase-conjugation (DOPC) projector" to realistically approach "naked-eyes 3D vedio without display". By continuous development of this technology, the created 3D vedio will be able to use any wall or even furniture as a screen. It makes the viewer ignoring the presence of the screen and feel the "naked-eyes 3D vedio without display" as real. It can further avoid the difficulty of “dizzy feeling caused by accommodation vergence mismatch”faced by current stereoscopic-3D-image technology. However, current difficulty of this technology is the modulation channel-numbers of the "Digital-optical-phase-conjugate projection system" is much smaller than that of the scattering surface. It lead to severe noise when the phase conjugate signal is focusing through a large-area scattering surface. Therefore, we will use a large-area volume holographic optical element to generate an optical conjugate signal. The number of modulating channels will be much larger than the number of channels that can be modulated by any SLM on the market, so that the number of system channels is limited only by the optical system. The previous two-years research results of our project supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology have confirmed the proposed solution is absolutely feasible. In the future, the successful implementation of this project will bring excellent experiences to the viewers.
