Project for Promoting and Managing Energy Conservation Focus Center

Project Details

Description

The Energy Conservation Focus Center (ECFC) program is based on the National Energy Program-Phase II (NEP-II) and aims to plan the future energy saving technology development with the view point of industrialization. The program in particular focuses on those which can be industrialized within 5 to 10 years, helpful to increase local energy supply by 5~10%, and decrease carbon dioxide emission by 5~10%. Besides, based on the technology breakthrough and related action package, it also aims to help the government reach the targets listed in the Sustainable Energy Policy to lower at least 50% of the energy density by 2025 (with 2005 as the reference year) and reduce the carbon dioxide emission of year 2025 back to the level of year 2000.The Energy Conservation Focus Center program covers from the development of key components and modules, to the RD and service of the energy saving total systems. In residential/commercial Track, with the aim of realizing zero/low energy consumption building and adapting to increasing renewable power supply, the focus includes research, development and integration of air conditioning, lighting, equipment and system smart control. In industrial Track, the focus includes increasing the efficiency of utility system such as motors, air compressors, blowers, pumps and boilers. In addition, the system control will be optimized and the energy saving of production systems will be improved. The evaluation of district energy system will be also performed. In transportation Track, the focus includes the development of high efficiency transportation system, electric propulsion, energy storage, light weight, and intelligent systems. Overall, the project will work out strategies for the industrialization of the energy saving technology and help achieve the objectives of energy saving policy.
