Project Details

Description

This project studies the effects of patent network on firm productivity. Patent network is the network of patent forward and/or backward citations which is based on the social network measures of Freeman (1979). It includes InDegree Centrality, OutDegree Centrality, InCloseness Centrality, OutCloseness Centrality, and Betweenness Centrality. An econometric analysis will be carried out to examine whether the patent network has significant impact on the firm’s productivity after considering related control variables. As far as we know, this is the first study in the related literature.
