Description
Nowadays, most mobile devices are equipped with multiple communication interfaces, such as LTE, WiFi, D2D, Bluetooth, NFC, etc. In this case, if we can make full use of emerging heterogeneous networks, various devices will be able to provide more reliable services with higher quality. Through newly formulated multipath TCP (MPTCP) standard, which has critical compatibility advantage over SCTP (stream control transmission protocol), the vision can be realized in the near future. However, how to optimally conduct congestion and error correction in MPTCP under fairness and throughput requirements remains an open issue. In this project, we propose a network coding enhanced congestion aware approach to further improve MPTCP raw performance in the first year. In the second year, a system seamlessly integrating multiple wireless access technologies will be developed. We expect to provide significant contribution on application driven wireless access.
